SACOETEC Receives Moderators’ Report as NCE Teaching Practice 2024/2025 Rounds Off
Students of NCE 3 have completed their Teaching Practice Exercise. The 2024/2025 NCE Teaching Practice Exercise was rounded off on February 21, 2025, following a successful moderation exercise conducted on February 18, 2025.

The moderation session commenced with a welcome address delivered by the Acting Dean, School of Education and Chairman of the Teaching Practice Committee, Mr. L. O. Aminu. The external moderators were warmly received by the College Deputy Provost, Mr. Adewale Adekoya. Distinguished attendees included Dr. Anu Adesanya, the immediate past Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. T.M. Adewale, the Director of Quality Assurance, Mrs. A.O. Balogun, and Mr. O.T. Adedayo both of SACOETEC School of Education.
On behalf of the external moderators, Dr. S.A. Akinyele from the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, expressed his appreciation to the institution’s management, the Dean, and all members of the Teaching Practice Committee for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. He commended the overall standard of the Teaching Practice Exercise for 2024-2025. He particularly commended the grading system where a student was assigned up to 10-supervisors and praised the College supervisors for their meticulous, thorough, and objective assessment of the students.
He also emphasized the need to delist sub-standard schools from the Teaching Practice Exercise, noting that such institutions do not provide the requisite experiential learning opportunities for prospective teachers.
The external moderators invited for the exercise were Dr. R. O. Bello from Federal College of Education (S), Oyo, Mr. T.A. Olayanju from Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, Lagos and Mr. E. A. Oje of Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, Lagos. Others were Dr. S. A. Akinyele of Federal College of Education, Abeokuta and Dr. M. M. Akinseli of Federal College of Education, Abeokuta.
Other Committee Members who were present from SACOETEC were Dr. A.O. Kareem, the Teaching Practice Co-ordinator, Mr. K.K. Lawal, the Sub-Dean, School of Education, Dr. N.A. Dairo, the representative from the School of Languages, Dr. O.A. Arowolo, the representative from the School of Sciences and Mr. O.I. Oladimeji, the representative from the School of Vocational and Technical Education. Others are Mr. Ogunfowokan, representing the School of Arts and Social Sciences, Mrs. G.O. Adedapo, the representative from the School of Education and Mr. A.S. Yusuf, also representing the School of Education.
This comprehensive exercise has contributed significantly to enhancing teaching practice standards and ensuring that future educators are well-prepared through rigorous evaluation and constructive feedback.
The students are expected back in school as there is no break. Lecture time table has been released and lecturers are eager to resume academic activities. The next teaching practice exercise for the current NCE 2 students is expected to begin in September 2025, while registration will commence much earlier.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Modupe Ayodele Oba-Adenuga has earlier commended the students on the successful completion of the exercise, thanking God that the College did not receive any negative report or reports of misbehaving students. She encouraged the students to pursue their last semester in this programme with vigour. She gave assurances that the students’ results would be processed in record time to enable them return to the College to register for Direct Entry. She also reminded them that registration for TRCN remains compulsory as it has become a cardinal objective of the College to professionally equip her NCE graduates.
