SACOETEC Provost Welcomes Courtesy Visits
The Provost of Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology has received separate courtesy calls from National Association of Ondo State Students and lecturers of Department of Home Economics.
Led by the Chapter President of National Association of Ondo State Students NAOSS, Senator Prince Adeoye Omoleminu (400 Level, Political Science ) and Florence Badejo, President, National Association of Political Science Students NAPSS (400 Level Political Science and overall co-ordinator of 400 Level), the members of the association came to welcome the Provost and congratulate her on becoming the first ever female Provost of the institution since it was founded in 1978. They expressed their willingness to be available to the Provost and to support all her initiatives.
The NAOSS officials presented the Provost with a plaque, symbolizing their choice of the Provost as a patron of their association.
In her response, the Provost thanked the students and reassured them that she would leave her doors open to them like her predecessor. She told them that student matters would be top priority for her administration. Being a former union leader herself, she said she understood student challenges and would do everything in her power to protect the interest of students.
The Provost also appealed to the association to join in the drive to improve the student enrolment through recommendation and the use of their various social media platforms to advertise the school.
Hours later, lecturers from the Department of Home Economics in the School of Vocational and Technical Education came calling. Their visit was in solidarity with the Provost and to congratulate her on her appointment as the first female provost of Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Omu-Ajose. The lecturers led by Mrs Oduneye G. A and Princess Bolanle Odufuwa assured the provost that she could count on their support.
The Department brought with them a beautiful cake baked in their laboratory. The Provost, in her response, thanked the team for their kindness. While further soliciting their support for her programmes, the provost re-assured them that she would give premium attention to staff interests.
Dr. Modupe Oba-Adenuga is the first woman to attain the position of Provost since the inception of the College in 1978 as Ogun State College of Education OSCE, and then to Tai Solarin College of Education TASCE, and now Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology, Omu-Ajose.
