SACOETEC Matriculates Fresh Degree Students

On Monday March 3, 2025, Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology (SACOETEC), Omu-Ajose matriculated fresh Degree students, officially recognizing them as students of the institution. The colourful ceremony was held in the 500-Capacity Auditorium of the College and witnessed by dignitaries from all walks of life.

Present were the students, their parents and guardians, principal officers of the College, members of staff, and well wishers of the matriculating students.

In her welcome address, the Provost of the College, Dr. Modupe Ayodele Oba-Adenuga thanked the parents and guardians of all the students for the confidence they reposed in the school by committing the academic wellbeing into the hands of the College and her processes. She assured them that the College would not let them down or betray their trust.

Addressing the students, the Provost encouraged them to immerse themselves in their studies and make the best of the opportunity they have and excel in the College. On their moral conduct as students, the Provost said, “You must make every effort to shun all forms of vices, cultism and all forms of evil prevalent in our society.”

The Provost as supported at the event by the Deputy Provost, Mr. Wale Adekoya, the Registrar, Mrs Bukola Makinde FNIM, the Bursar, Mr. Olugbenga Olusanya and the Acting College Librarian, Mr. Chuma Okoye.

Other officers present were the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Gilbert Shabi, the Dean of School of Science, Mr. Femi Olusanya, the Dean of the School of Languages, Dr. Toyin Makinde, the Dean of School of Vocational and Technical Education, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ojo, and the Dean of the School of Education, Mr. Lateef Aminu. Also present were the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Lukman Olusesi, the Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Toyin Adewale, the Director of SIWES & VOS, Dr. Tosin Olatokunbo, the Director of ACAAdemic Planning, Dr. Segun Ogundiran, the Student Affairs Oficer, the Director of Degree Programme, Dr. Abidemi Arikewuyo, the Secretary of the Degree Office, Mrs. Mojisola Ajidagba and th Student Affairs Officer, Mr. Adebayo Saula.

Sikiru Adetona College of Education is a hybrid institution running multiple programmes and advancing education through technology. The College runs a degree programme in affiliation with Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye that accommodates fifteen courses across the five schools of the College in addition to full and part time NCE programmes and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE)..

The 15 Degree courses are:

SCIENCES: Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Physical Education and Health Education.

LANGUAGES: English Language

ARTS & SOCIAL SCIENCES: Political Science, Social Studies, Geography, Economics

VOCATIONAL & TECHNICAL EDUCATION: Business Education

EDUCATION: Nursery & Primary Education and Guidance & Counselling

The College is at the verge of introducing more courses which will include (i) Library and Information Service (ii.) Creative Arts (iii.) Transport Management  (iv.) Agricultural Science Education (vi.) Entrepreneurship Education and Education Technology. These courses are planned to be available for 2025/2026 admission at the latest.
